One throw, and a place to keep it
Choose a useful layer around its feel, care requirements and actual storage space.

Notice the layer you reach for
The throw that gets used tells you more than a color palette. Think about its weight, texture and size in the seat where you read. Personal preferences vary, so treat a photograph as inspiration rather than a promise of comfort. Remove redundant cushions or blankets before deciding the room needs more.
Read the care requirements first
Check the label before washing, drying or applying any treatment. Similar-looking textiles can have different care needs. If the instructions require a process that does not fit your routine, that is useful information for the next purchase. Do not substitute a general online tip for the guidance on your particular item.
Choose an ordinary resting place
A folded throw over a suitable chair arm or on an accessible shelf can be enough. Keep it away from heaters and other heat sources. Avoid placing a basket in a passage simply because it looks balanced there. The storage spot should not create a new obstacle in the room.
Keep the rotation small
Put clean, appropriately dry textiles away and review the collection seasonally. A layer that is never used may belong elsewhere. Changing one textile can refresh the room without replacing the chair, rug and curtains around it. Let the room's actual use set the pace.
How many throws does a reading corner need?
There is no required number. One useful, easy-to-care-for layer is a good starting point; add another only for a specific need.
